Bouncer alternative

charlymail verifies emails at $0.00049 per address — $0.49 per 1,000 against Bouncer's $8.00, about 16× less at entry volume. No subscription, no card and no KYC: top up with crypto from $5 and pay only for what you check. Below is an honest comparison, including where Bouncer is the better tool.

The short version: charlymail costs $4.90 to verify 10,000 addresses. Bouncer costs about $80.00 for the same list at their entry rate. Bouncer states 99%+ accuracy, up to 99.5%, holds GDPR compliant, SOC 2 Type 1, and integrates directly with major CRMs — we do none of those.

Bouncer's $8 applies to the smallest 1,000-credit package. It scales down with volume — $4 per 1,000 at 100,000 credits and $2 per 1,000 at a million. Our $0.49 is flat at every volume.

Competitor pricing is list price at the time of writing and changes without notice — check www.usebouncer.com before deciding. Our own price is fixed at $49 per 100,000 tokens.

Where Bouncer is genuinely better

An honest assessment

We are not the right tool for everyone, and pretending otherwise would waste your time. Here is where Bouncer wins outright.

Bouncer is a genuinely strong product, and on several axes it beats us outright. Their compliance position is the clearest example: they hold SOC 2 Type 1 and document GDPR compliance formally. If your legal team requires a vendor questionnaire answered before you can upload a customer list, Bouncer can answer it and we cannot.

They also win on integrations. Bouncer connects directly to HubSpot, Marketo and Salesforce, so verification happens inside the tool your team already uses. We expose a REST API and nothing else — if you want your CRM cleaned automatically, someone on your side has to write that integration.

Two more things worth naming. Their Toxicity Check flags spam traps and breached addresses that have circulated on public lists, and it is bundled into the standard price rather than sold separately — a real feature we do not match. And their throughput is serious: up to 180,000 addresses per hour per client.

Finally, credits at Bouncer never expire. That matters if you verify once a quarter, and it is the same promise we make about tokens — worth stating plainly rather than pretending it is a point of difference.

Where charlymail is better

Price, at every volume. Our $0.49 per 1,000 is flat — there is no tier to unlock and no minimum commitment. On 100,000 addresses that is $49 against $800, a difference of $751.

Payment without a card. Bouncer needs a card and billing details. We take USDT, BTC, ETH and TRX through our own processor — no card, no KYC, no subscription. For operators outside the countries card processors like, this is often the deciding factor rather than a nice-to-have.

You filter before you pay for the expensive check. Verification runs in two phases: a cheap pass scores the whole list on syntax, MX, disposable and role addresses, and only what survives goes through deep SMTP verification — and only if you ask. Filter by score, provider or gender first and the deep-check volume drops sharply. Most services bill per address submitted, whatever comes back. See pricing for the exact numbers.

Enrichment and list building are included. Name, gender, country, provider and a 0–100 score come with validation rather than as a paid add-on, and list collection from GitHub, Reddit, HN and other sources is part of the same product.

Which one should you pick

Choose Bouncer if you need teams that need compliance paperwork, native CRM integrations and a polished UI. Those are real requirements and we do not meet them — no amount of price advantage substitutes for a compliance document your legal team asks for.

Choose charlymail if cost per address is what actually constrains you, if you want to pay without a card or KYC, or if you would rather filter a list down before paying for deep verification. Start with 200 free tokens and check a real list before deciding — that is a more useful comparison than any table.

Common questions

How much cheaper is charlymail than Bouncer?

At entry volume, charlymail costs $0.49 per 1,000 addresses versus $8.00 at Bouncer — about 16 times less. Bouncer discounts with volume, down to $2.00 per 1,000 at a million credits, so at the very top of their scale the gap narrows to roughly 4x. Our $0.49 is flat: there is no volume tier to reach.

Can I pay Bouncer with crypto?

No. Bouncer takes card payments. charlymail accepts USDT and other crypto with no card, no KYC and no subscription — a $5 top-up is enough to start.

Is Bouncer more accurate than charlymail?

Bouncer states 99%+ accuracy and has a longer public track record with independent testing behind it. We do not claim to beat them on raw accuracy. Both services perform SMTP-level verification; the difference is that we let you filter a list before the expensive check so you only pay to deeply verify the addresses that matter.

Does Bouncer charge for catch-all and unknown results?

Bouncer charges per address submitted, whatever the result comes back as. With charlymail the cheap first pass — syntax, MX, disposable and role detection — runs across the whole list at $0.00049 per address, and you choose which survivors go through the deep SMTP check.

Should I switch from Bouncer to charlymail?

Not if you need SOC 2 documentation, native HubSpot or Salesforce sync, or spam-trap toxicity scoring — Bouncer does those and we do not. Switch if your cost per address matters more than integrations, or if you need to pay without a card.
